How to turn off FLEET mode and turn on PROFI mode in MAN truck?
What are FLEET and PROFI modes?
All MAN trucks, that come from factory with automatic gearboxes are setup with FLEET mode. This mode limits truck transmission and allows it to work in an economical way, without the possibility of accessing transmission full potential.
Also, FLEET mode does not allow to shift gears manually, which can be quite a struggle if you are driving up the mountain fully loaded, and you need more power.
On the other hand, we have PROFI mode, which is a solution to such a problem. This mode allows you to rev up higher, get more power and shift gears manually.
How to change these modes?
With the new Truck Explorer software release (v7.6 build 21057) it is now possible to select and set the mode you need. In a few simple steps and it will take you not more than 2 minutes.
FLEET and PROFI mode information is stored in the drive control module. FFR or PTM.
- Connect VEI device to your truck by OBD2 or directly to the control module.
- In Truck Explorer software go to Parameters section and select “Transmission mode”.
- Select which mode you want, FLEET or PROFI and press WRITE. Operation will cost you 100 tokens.
